Today's post is a little bit different. I've loved how popular neckties have become this summer and I'm obsessed with the many different ways to wear them. A couple weeks ago I thought it would be fun to compile all those ways in a tutorial style post and it turned out to be so much fun! Many of you may not know this, but my mom is my main photographer in the summer time. We were both kinda having a cruddy week so we drove down to the pier and decided to shoot some things for the blog. When I told her I wanted to do a post that was step by step, she was like "umm what?" We were cracking up shooting these because it was so hard for me to pause in between steps. If you want a sneak peek at those crazy shots, head over to Instagram later today and watch my Instastory. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did! Make sure you pin the image above so you can locate it later when you're rocking your fav neck scarf.

I have broken down my 4 favorite different ways step by step below!

Style #1:"The Western"

1.) Grab your fav scarf!
2.) Fold the scarf in half. If your scarf is shorter skip this step.
3.) Place the scarf around your neck- the side that you're tying it on should be slightly shorter to make it easier to tie. Like the photo above! I tied mine on the left so I made the right "tail" a little longer.
4.) Tie the scarf around your kneck in a loose knot. The knot should be loose enough that it is comfortable but tight enough that it stayss put. Done!

Style 2: "The Kennedy"

1.) Twist the scarf and place it around your neck.
2.) Bring the scarf under your hair and tie it on top of your head to measure the width of your head.
3.) Tie the scarf in a knot and slid it off. The scarf should look like mine does in the photo above.
4.) Slide the scarf over your head so the "tails" are in the back. Bring the scarf up and position it 2 or 3 inches from your hairline. Pull the scarf tails to the side of your head. Done!

Style 3: "The Rosie"

1.) Grabe a hair tie, your favorite scarf and some bobby pins if you need them!
2.) Put your hair in a low messy bun.
3.) Fold the scarf in half.
4.) Position the scarf around your heads. Begin by placing the scarf on the back of your neck, bring it to the front and then tie it in the back by crossing the two tails of the scarf and meeting them behind your head. Done!

Style 4: "The Wanderer"

1.) Open the scarf and fold it in half (hot dog style)
2.) Position the folded scarf so that the width on both sides of your head are even.
3.) Position the scarf on your head so that it begins at the crown and covers a small portion of your forehead. Tie in a knot! Make sure not to tie it too tight or the back of your hair will poof!

If you have made it this far- thank you for sticking around! I am working on something really special that will make tutorials a lot easier in the future so be on the lookout!

Also, congratulations Miranda Lopez you're the winner of a gorgeous Loft headscarf! Send me an email ( to claim your prize!
