Whether you are in a serious relationship or casually dating, Valentines Day can be straight up stressful on a college budget. For Andrew and I, Valentines Day falls right after Christmas & my birthday in January & right before his birthday in March so we try to keep Vday pretty low maintenance. This year we are celebrating Valentines Day on Sunday by grabbing brunch at our favorite place and we both decided to make something for each other for gifts.

Below i've listed 5 other ways to show a little love this season without breaking the bank:

1.) Baked goods ~ make your fav person a dozen cookies or cupcakes. These are number one on the list because it doesn't cost much and nothing says "I love you" or "wife me up" like yummy food.
2.) A memory box ~ fill a shadow box (can be found at Michaels/ Hobby Lobby) with little tokens of your relationship together. Could be sweet letters, silly inside jokes, photographs, movies/ concert tickets, etc.
3.) A homemade coupon book or date night jar ~ fill a mason jar for various different kinds of date nights. Can be anything from a simple dinner & a movie to a challenge like you have $15, do something nice as a couple for a stranger.
4.) "Open when..." letters ~ these are great for long distance! Write a different letter for anything thing from "open when you're sad", "open when you need to know how much I love you," etc.
5.) Go on a picnic ~ if you're fortunate to live someplace warm than pack up some sack lunches and spend an afternoon just being together. If its a little chilly in your neck of the woods than make a blanket fort in the living room and eat dinner "picnic style." Andrew and I love grabbing a pizza and some Starbucks and heading to the park. We could sit under the gazebo and talk all day and never get tired of it + its the best time to catch up! We're actually doing that this afternoon and I am so excited.

I hope these helped! Let me know in the comments below what kind of special Valentine traditions you have.
