5 Tips for Curing the Winter Skin Blues

Top: Old Navy // Vest: Bass (i've found one here) // similar blanket scarf

Okay, ladies... lets face it. It is officially freezing out and whether we want to admit it or not, our beautiful summer skin is hiding from us! haha For todays post I thought I would roundup what I use in the winter season to keep my skin healthy, hydrated and moisturized.

I've listed some of my favorite tips & tricks for maintaining hydrated skin this winter below:

1.) Use a moisturizing setting spray
I used this Urban Decay setting spray for forever before I got tired of having to repurchase it all the time! It also seemed to run out super fast and never really did much for me other than being awesome at helping my makeup to last all day. However, THIS setting spray from Pur Minerals cosmetics is my all time favorite. It was recommended to me by a Pur Minerals consultant and I have been obsessed with it ever since. It is originally meant to be used before putting your makeup on, but I use it after as well because it helps my makeup to last all day. It leaves my skin feeling super hydrated and locks in those natural oils that are easy to loose when its freezing outside. Plus, it only $19 and lasts forever. I clearly need to restock! haha

2.) Use a moisturizing cream & dark spot correcting cream
I had been on the hunt for a good moisturizing lotion for a long time before I came across this one. My skin is super sensitive so most creams tend to break me out, but THIS one by Soap & Glory is super moisturizing and really light on my skin. I also use THIS dark spot correcting cream under my eyes in the winter because 1. exams = no sleep and 2. my eye bags are crazy noticeable without a tan!  I usually put both of these items on at night after I have taken off my makeup and exfoliated my face.

3.) Splurge on a great moisturizing foundation
THIS foundation by Clinique is a little bit pricier than your regular drug store foundation, but I like to splurge on my foundation in the winter because I typically just wear a drug store BB cream in the summer. I especially love THIS foundation for winter because the super balanced technology absorbs oil where there is an excess amount and hydrates/ moisturizes dry spots. It is perfect for my dry combination to combination oily skin. Having a high quality foundation in the winter time will also help the rest of your makeup to go on super smooth.

4.) Get plenty of sleep & drink LOTS of water!
Y'all there is honestly nothing healthier for your skin than plenty of sleep and lots and lots of water! I often times forget to drink plenty of water in the winter time because I'm not outside and hot, but it is so important! THIS water bottle is great for remembering to drink plenty of water and is super cute too.

5.) Try a moisturizing fast mask
Face masks are perfect for leaving your skin feeling super hydrates and refreshed. I like to use sheet masks specifically at least once a week. I really like this, this and this one. I also love to use THIS Lush's Christmas face scrub when i'm done!

That's all for today! I hope this helps you cure some of your winter skin blues!
