Hi guys!!

So a fitness post was never something that I saw myself writing about, but lets be real... workout clothes make up a HUGE part of my wardrobe and when I saw these Nike's from the NSale I was reminded that being fit is not just about work out routines and clean eating. Being fit has a lot to do with how you feel about yourself, and I knew I wanted to share with you guys a little bit about my heart & what my definition of "fit & healthy" consists of. As a fashion blogger it is also extremely important for me to just be real & to be honest I live in these clothes!

I have never been extremely in to working out... I played softball in high school, but other than that I have never been extremely athletic. If you know me then you also probably know that running is at the bottom of my list just about any day... I love that some people can find immense enjoyment while running, but I have yet to enjoy even thinking about the subject... so until then I'll just get my exercise in other ways! haha

With that being said, I have never felt an immense pressure to work out. I struggled for a little bit in middle school (LOL doesn't everyone??) and at the beginning of high school with my body image, but I soon grew to love the body that God had given me and to be completely honest I just filled my time with other things that weren't working out or time spent in a gym. However, I do believe that your body is your temple and you only get one! It is our responsibility to take care of ourselves and therefore "I werk out" and by that I mean, I get enough exercise to be healthy and feel good so that I can accomplish my goals in life.

One of my favorite ways to get exercise is by riding bikes! I love that it is something that I can do with a friend or family member that can also be made into good quality time. I also really love cardio, hiking and dance workouts (think Zumba or Beyonce's "lets move" campaign)! When it comes to being "fit" I think it differs from person to person. As long as you are happy about your body image and living a healthy lifestyle (i.e. avoiding toxins and things that can potentially harm your body) to the best of your ability than in my book you're doing a great job.

Below I wanted to share with you guys some of my favorite and the most beneficial ways that I have found to take care of my body & feel good:

1. Drink LOTS of water!
I know this seems a little silly or a "duh" tip while working out, but its a good reminder! Water is so so important for not just our physical but also our mental health. The more water you drink the better you will feel and the clearer you will think and be able to tackle negative thoughts that creep into your mind!
2. Work out to feel good
This is SO important. Working out or getting exercise should be done for you! Do it because it gives you energy and makes you feel happy. If you feel like you're pushing yourself too hard than you probably are! Take a break and reevaluate why you are doing what you do.
3. Look for new ways to motivate yourself.
If working out makes you feel better, but is also a struggle (kind of like coffee wakes me up and fuels me for the day but getting out of bed and making it is a struggle?) than look for new ways to motivate yourself! Choose something that you know will make you work harder and than reward yourself. I personally choose handbags and shoes, but your reward is up to you ;)
4. Set small goals that lead to a larger goal.
If when working out you ever begin to feel discouraged with the results that you're getting because you want more than remember it takes baby steps to accomplish big goals. In reality you're probably not going to get abs in a week or maybe in a month so set practical goals that will be encouraging and keep you striving towards the ultimate goal.
5. Comparison is the thief of joy!!
This is the most important. The easiest way to feel bad about yourself is to compare yourself to someone else. In all reality there will always be someone who has something or a better something than you do. If you spend all of your time comparing yourself to others than you will end up neglecting yourself and achieving nothing. We as humans are each made to be completely unique so embrace who you were made to be and be the best "you" that you can be.

Thank for reading along! Do you guys have any daily habits or reminders that help you live a healthy lifestyle? I would love to hear them!! Ps. If you are planning on ordering those Nikes grab them soon because they're going fast!
